We give equidistribution results of elements of function fields over finite fields, and of quadratic irrationals over these fields, in their completed local fields. We deduce these results from equidistribution theorems of common perpendiculars in quotients of trees by lattices in their automorphism groups, proved by using ergodic properties of the discrete geodesic flow.

The more you move, the more action you construct : a motion capture study on head and upper-torso movements in constructed action in Finnish Sign Language narratives
Jantunen, Tommi; De Weerdt, Danny; Burger, Birgitta; Puupponen, Anna (John Benjamins Publishing Company, 2021)This paper investigates, with the help of motion capture data processed on corpus principles, the characteristics of head and upper-torso movements in constructed action and regular narration (i.e., signing without constructed ... -

Wang, Yingying; Ji, Qingchun; Fu, Rao; Zhang, Guanghui; Lu, Yingzhi; Zhou, Chenglin (Wiley, 2022)Athletes extract kinematic information to anticipate action outcomes. Here, we examined the influence of linguistic information (experiment 1, 2) and its underlying neural correlates (experiment 2) on anticipatory judgment. ... -
