We calculate the almost sure Hausdorff dimension for a general class
of random affine planar code tree fractals. The set of probability measures describing

Timbre and affect dimensions: Evidence from affect and similarity ratings and acoustic correlates of isolated instrument sounds
Eerola, Tuomas; Ferrer Flores, Rafael; Alluri, Vinoo (University of California Press, 2012)Considerable effort has been made towards understanding how acoustic and structural features contribute to emotional expression in music, but relatively little attention has been paid to the role of timbre in this ... -
Highly occupied gauge theories in 2 + 1 dimensions : a self-similar attractor
Boguslavski, K.; Kurkela, A.; Lappi, T.; Peuron, J. (American Physical Society, 2019)Motivated by the boost-invariant Glasma state in the initial stages in heavy-ion collisions, we perform classical-statistical simulations of SU(2) gauge theory in 2+1 dimensional space-time both with and without a scalar ... -
Transcranial random noise stimulation and heart rate variability
Varheenmaa, Markus; Wikgren, Jan; Tarvainen, Mika; Brem, Anna-Katharine; Lehto, Soili (Elsevier, 2023)Transcranial random noise stimulation (tRNS) is a transcranial electric stimulation (tES) method, in which an electrical current alternates randomly between two stimulation electrodes in direction and amplitude, within a ... -
Isometric embeddings of snowflakes into finite-dimensional Banach spaces
Le Donne, Enrico; Rajala, Tapio; Walsberg, Erik (American Mathematical Society, 2018)We consider a general notion of snowflake of a metric space by composing the distance with a nontrivial concave function. We prove that a snowflake of a metric space X isometrically embeds into some finite-dimensional ... -
Bayesian semiparametric long memory models for discretized event data
Chakraborty, Antik; Ovaskainen, Otso; Dunson, David B. (Institute of Mathematical Statistics, 2022)We introduce a new class of semiparametric latent variable models for long memory discretized event data. The proposed methodology is motivated by a study of bird vocalizations in the Amazon rain forest; the timings of ...
