In this paper we present a new error indicator for approximate solutions of
elliptic problems. We discuss error indication with the paradigm of the diffusion problem,
however the techniques are easily adaptable to more complicated elliptic problems, for
example to linear elasticity, viscous flow models and electromagnetic models. The proposed
indicator does not contain mesh dependent constants and it admits parallelization.

Rank Structured Approximation Method for Quasi-Periodic Elliptic Problems
Khoromskij, Boris; Repin, Sergey (de Gruyter, 2017)We consider an iteration method for solving an elliptic type boundary value problem Au=f, where a positive definite operator A is generated by a quasi-periodic structure with rapidly changing coefficients (a typical period ... -
A posteriori error bounds for approximations of the oseen problem and applications to the uzawa iteration algorithm
Nokka, Marjaana; Repin, Sergey (Walter de Gruyter GmbH, 2014)Abstract: We derive computable bounds of deviations from the exact solution of the stationary Oseen prob- lem. They are applied to approximations generated by the Uzawa iteration method. Also, we derive an ad- vanced ... -

Approximation of pre-twisted Achilles sub-tendons with continuum-based beam elements
Obrezkov, Leonid; Bozorgmehri, Babak; Finni, Taija; Matikainen, Marko K. (Elsevier Inc., 2022)Achilles sub-tendons are materially and geometrically challenging structures that can nearly undergo around 15% elongation from their pre-twisted initial states during physical activities. Sub-tendons’ cross-sectional ... -
