This paper presents the latest results of high current proton beam production at Simple Mirror
Ion Source (SMIS) 37 facility at the Institute of Applied Physics (IAP RAS). In this experimental
setup, the plasma is created and the electrons are heated by 37.5 GHz gyrotron radiation with
power up to 100 kW in a simple mirror trap fulfilling the ECR condition. Latest experiments at
SMIS 37 were performed using a single-aperture two-electrode extraction system. Proton beams
with currents up to 450 mA at high voltages below 45 kV were obtained. The maximum beam
current density was measured to be 600 mA/cm2. A possibility of further improvement through
the development of an advanced extraction system is discussed.

Measurement of pion, kaon and proton production in proton–proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (Springer Berlin Heidelberg, 2015)The measurement of primary π±, K ±, p and p production at mid-rapidity (|y| < 0.5) in proton–proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV performed with a large ion collider experiment at the large hadron collider (LHC) is ... -
Dielectron production in proton-proton and proton-lead collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (American Physical Society, 2020)The first measurements of dielectron production at midrapidity (|ηe| < 0.8) in proton–proton and proton–lead collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV at the LHC are presented. The dielectron cross section is measured with the ALICE ... -
Double D-meson production in proton-proton and proton-lead collisions at the LHC
Helenius, Ilkka; Paukkunen, Hannu (Elsevier BV, 2020)We consider the simultaneous production of two heavy-flavoured hadrons – particularly D mesons – at the LHC. We base our calculations on collinearly factorized QCD at next-to-leading order, using the contemporary parton ... -
Production of Σ(1385)± and Ξ(1530)0 in proton–proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (Springer, 2015)The production of the strange and double-strange baryon resonances ((1385)±, (1530)0) has been measured at mid-rapidity (|y|< 0.5) in proton–proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV with the ALICE detector at the LHC. ... -
Measurement of charm and beauty production at central rapidity versus charged-particle multiplicity in proton-proton collisions at √s = 7 TeV
ALICE Collaboration (Springer Berlin Heidelberg, 2015)Prompt D meson and non-prompt J/ψ yields are studied as a function of the multiplicity of charged particles produced in inelastic proton-proton collisions at a centreof-mass energy of √ s = 7 TeV. The results are reported ...
