MERITS: Always very useful, especially for early career scientists, to learn from editors about how to improve their probabilities for publishing in this journal.
CRITIQUE: In addition to the questions raised in the abstract, it would be also useful to communicate on the the submission process; how many articels are desk-rejected immediately by editor, what percentage of articles go into review, how long is the approximate review process, etc.
DISCUSSION: This will be an important presentation, which hopefully reaches many scholars wishing to publish in this journal. It would be great to give both author and editor point of view of the process in the presentation, to show what is considered both sides.
